If David Archuleta isn't our next American Idol, I'll be damned....I just hate that I had to give you all a clue....BUT, he was sooooooooooooo good. "Imagine" his voice at his age. Unbelievable.
David Archuleta is overrated. Come on' ! I think he is headed for Broadway, but can he handle the theme weeks? Plus- the 'awww schucks' thing is getting old.
If youre gay and you tell me that you like Danny, Ill tell you that youre not really gay, and that you like chicks. He looks like a chick, he should just own it and go tranny, he could make a monster career on SouthBeach...
There has been some banter happening through email and through the blog that revolves around Idol Pool members' crushes on certain idols. There has also been a lot of Danny Noriega gay-bashing. I just want to say that to like Danny because he has a really good voice and for entertainment value has nothing to do with whether you like gay people or him, specifically. For me, it is refreshing to see someone who is comfortable with himself and isn't sticking around in the closet just because he is afraid of what other people might think. The visceral reaction against him expressed by some members of the pool is very interesting to me - he certainly isn't the worst contestant out there.
I think Danny is a beautiful specimin of a human - he is just gorgeously pretty (have you looked at his lips??), has confidence but not too much and is appreciative for where he is.
On top of that he has a great voice - I will be pulling for Danny :)
Amanda was brutal tonight. Hope she makes it through because I've liked her up to this point, but she was just terrible tonight.....in fact all the girls were underwhelming. I thought this was the best batch ever?
I really liked Luke. I know that he did not get good reviews, but I thought his performance was well done and his voice is interesting -- what do others think?
I think the judges are always wishy washy with the "you're being compared to the original" argument. If the contestants try to do a more obscure song, the judges scold them for doing something the public doesn't know (take Simon's comments about not even knowing Heart's "Magic Man" when Kady sang it).
If they do a well known pop song of the time that hasn't been covered a lot, they get scolded for doing something "of it's generation" like Simon did for Alexandrea's song.
So their only option for not being blasted for song choice is to do a well known song that is still relevant today (like Luke with "Killer Queen"). And then if they sing it decently well, they get criticized for not being up to the original's level.
OK, here is my first blog entry, so I have a lot to say: As for Luke, I'm sorry to say this, but I think he's by far the worst ever. I really am wishing for his farewell. I feel similarly about Jason Yeager. BO-ring. David A makes me giggle uncontrollably. Adorable. I, too, LOVE Amanda and hope she does better in the future. She was a little disappointing this week. Danny is great, and I hope he goes far. BTW, everyone should look him up on perez hilton, because there is a comparison of him and Jessica Alba that is incredible. He has a killer voice, and he makes Simon smile.
I voted for Amanda because I felt bad and feel like she deserves another chance, but I don't really like when she sings like she has marbles in her mouth.

John Edwards was right--there really ARE two Americas. There's the smart America that voted the male deadweight off tonight and then the MORON America which apparently was voting only for the girls. Alaina can sing circles around Kristy Lee, Brooke, Kady, and Syesha combined! Go Sooners!

Can anyone explain the necessity of Simon, Ryan and Randy at the end of the video with Paula... its disturbing enough without the last scene..

I think Danny is a straighter (and less fierce) version of Christian from Project Runway.
