April 1 Viewer's Guide

You may think you know this week’s theme since Dolly Parton is the guest judge. No, idol fans, it isn’t JUST country. Our Idols will be singing Dolly Parton songs!

Our insiders tell us the contestants were locked in a room with their weapon of choice to determine who will get to sing “I Will Always Love You”. Rest easy, David Archuleta won. His weapon? Just his infectious and humble giggle.

The remaining 8 contestants will all be singing “9 to 5”, except for Kristy Lee Cook. She received permission to fly to Iraq and sing “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” (from Dolly’s For God & Country album) surrounded by all 150,000+ American Troops stationed there. We look forward to that live feed.

We also have the inside scoop regarding the group number on elimination night. Many of you may not be familiar with Dolly Parton’s dinner theatre, Dixie Stampede. Think Medieval Nights in all red, white and blue, with fried chicken and biscuits. The finale to this show is a little number by Ms. Parton called “Color Me America.” Check out the video below. Surely, the Idols version will find a way to be even more American.

In other Idol News, Melinda Doolittle and Chris Richardson win the prize for the most demeaning follow-up to their stint on Idol. This is worse than the Ford commercials. Really, does Melinda have to keep eating the ice cream for that long?

Enjoy Dolly night!

If you would like to know what the song list is tonight, follow this link: http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/hello_dolly_what_the_idols_are_singing

Jolene will have the proper raspy twang.

Seacrest gives David Cook a chance to explain in public that he hasn't sung his own arrangement until tonight.

Are stuffed David Archuleta dolls available for sale yet? He's better than Tickle Me Elmo.

DialIdol certainly sees it as a slam dunk that Ramiele is gone.

I thought Michael Johns was excellent last night.

Brooke White saying she's inspired by Carole King is like Paula saying she's inspired by drunken craziness.
