In what was one of the craziest Tuesday nights in history, it all boiled down to one thing - can you remember your lyrics?
For Brandon, the answer was "no", and so he saved the horrible performances of the creepy freak, the glassless Coldplay imitator, the sobbing girl, and, dare we say, the musical genius who decided to make "You Keep Me Hangin' On" not so much contemporary, but more circa-1983. Disagree? Watch it again here. It's the casio hand claps in the beat that makes us think early 80s. Plus, upon re-listening, he really sang that poorly.
Tuesday's show also featured the seemingly scheduled bi-weekly banter between Ryan and Simon about who is gayer....Is this funny anymore? Was it ever? Anyone? Does your attention span not go back to last night's show? Then, watch that clip here, but we can save a minute of your life by letting you know that Simon thinks that Ryan keeps high heeled shoes in his closet. Fabulous!
And, of course, the great Diana Ross tutored (we guess) what is now called the master class where she seemingly told almost everyone that they have to find their center or sing from their heart.
Then, she took the stage during Wednesday night's show and promptly had a major wardrobe malfunction when her giant red cloud cape came undone from her cloud cape hook on her left shoulder....She eventually was able to drop it to the floor where it sat like a giant red sofa of cotton candy for the rest of her performance. In an effort to separate herself from it, Ross eventually decided to meander over to the contestants where she put her arm around Melinda (extra screen time for her!) and let Chris R. sing a few words into her mic.....If someone knows how to find her center and sing her song from the heart, it's Diana Ross when she lets Chris R. sing it for her.
When it was over, she wouldn't shut up about how motivational the show is to America's youth. If you can't tell, we here at AI Pool HQ hate her.
ANYWAY, on to how Brandon's boot affected our pool!!!
Congratulations to the 7 entries who correctly named Brandon as their #12 - Jon, Julie, Kendra, Marsha, Rich, Will, and Zach & Sarah!
No one is 11 for 11. And no one is 10 for 11. The best people are now 9 out 11 (pretty pitiful), and there are 17 of them (1/3 of the pool!!!). They are Amy York, Brian, Brooke, Christy, Damian, Jane, Jen (not Jennie), Katy, Kendra, Lance, Lisa W., Mandy, MB, Matty, Rich, Will, and Zach & Sarah. So congrats to you peeps!
Looking at the leaderboard:
Lisa Wagner was able to retain her hold on 1st place even though she had Brandon out at #9. That is how strong her picks were last week. Lisa was 9 for 11 and had 18 points for the week giving her 28 for the season and a max score of 351.
But look out for Kendra!!! Kendra correctly named Brandon out this week giving her 9 for 11, too, which ALSO gives her 28 points for the season and a max of 351.
So, we now have a two-way tie for 1st!
And, breathing right down their necks are the 3 people tied for third - Amy York, Marybeth, and Matty! They also have 28 for the season and can max out at 348, just off the pace of the leading duo.
Right behind those three are Jane and the team of Zach & Sarah in a tie for 6th. Like the rest, they also have 28 points and can max out at 346.
So, you can see, it's still anybody's pool.....In fact, in addition to the 9 people listed above, there are 5 more who still can max out at 340 points or more (Chris S. at 347, Jen at 345, Julie, Lisa B., and Mike at 340), so everyone is still in it!!
Actually, that's not entirely true. Chris S.'s picks take a nose dive when creepy Sanjaya gets the boot next week. Right now, it seems like there are only 3 people out supporting Sanjaya: Chris S., marpo357, and Sabrina Sloan. Oh, and India.
Unfortunately, our youngest participant's picks took a nasty hit this week. Milly had Brandon #2, and even though she currently has 26 points, she can only max out at 272. Milly, it's time for you to start rooting for people like Blake and Stephanie to get out right now!!!!
Have any thoughts about the top 11, Diana Ross, who's gay, or aid for Africa? Post it here!!!!!

This is why I have a love/hate relationship with this show - another week of Sanjaya (I'm sure you heard my screams in Chicago and NY last night)and I hate to tell you, but I don't think he's going anywhere. I listened to Howard Stern for an hour this morning - he's starting a campaign to keep this kid on the show.
He's basically got every listener except me and a bitter woman from Philly behind him.
Yeah, DialIdol had him as the 3rd strongest competitor this week. Still, I think the time is coming soon when America is going to listen to him sing and then listen to the rest of the group and they'll break out of the spell they've been under by his Medusa-like coif. I hold out hope. I have seen Clash of the Titans. All it takes is a mirrory shield of some sort.
