Talk about Week 3 Here!

Well, this week the group average says Brandon's out, and he's already gone. In his stead, we've posted a picture of our least favorite person on the face of the earth, Sanjaya. Why won't he leave?!?!

But, before we get to ways to rid the show of Sanjaya, and before we get to this week's theme and this week's links and this week's viewing guide, we have some very exciting news to share with everyone!!!

AMERICAN IDOL POOL PARTICIPANT MARYBETH HEYD IS GOING TO THE TAPING OF AMERICAN IDOL

Everybody, this is what she looks like!!!! Here she is posing as Katherine McPhee for Halloween with Taylor Hicks. No, seriously, that's him...He looks completely different in real life.

So, if you see Marybeth on TV, make sure you scream like a little girl and jump up and down and run over to this blog and say "OMG I saw her!!!!".

Marybeth promised to take "copious" notes about her experiences at the taping on Tuesday and says there's a 50-50 chance she'll make it backstage with the contestants afterwards....Exciting!! So, look for a guest post from her about what it's like to attend an Idol taping later this week.

By the way, she's going with this guy (and his 8-year old daughter. It'll be her 4th taping). I wonder what Ben thinks about all this. I also wonder why he's not in the pool:

Yes, that's Jonathan from Survivor:Cook Islands.

There have been a lot of email links being sent around this week, and we here at the American Idol Media Committee would like to share some of them....

Simon has been in the news lately for saying something that the American Idol Media Committee doesn't think is even deserving of being mentioned....but, here's something that does deserve a mention - Simon turned down $100,000 for something that we're sure would have only lasted a couple minutes. Wonder what we're talking about? Read about that, and many more Simon tidbits here.

What blog entry would be complete without trashing Sanjaya. Man, does he suck. And, the NY Post seems to agree. Raakhee Mirchandani confirms what The Master has said all along, that India is voting for Sanjaya!!! Read about it here. Of course, this article doesn't echo the Pool's plan which calls upon Alieda or Damian or Brooke to call on their people to stop the madness. Rather, Raakhee seems to think the Indians are getting bored of the novelty of voting forward someone who sucks. Will our prayers to the Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and the arts, finally be answered?

On to this week's show, which is a show that The Master, as well as all of you, Marybeth, Jonathan from Cook Islands, Michael Rappaport, and the cast of Bones should all be excited about - British Invasion week!!! I know some of you love you some British invaders - will there be a "House of the Rising Sun" or "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" for Brooke or Damian? Will anything from The Kinks be performed for Mark? We could almost guarantee at least one Dusty Springfield song. The Idol Pool Master would be pumped if someone did a song by The Zombies (a group that deserves a lot more credit that they've received)....

The Moody Blues, Them, Herman's Hermits....the list goes on. USA Today reported back in January that the show has the rights to some Beatles songs. Will this be the week we hear them? What about The Rolling Stones? The Who? Cream? The list goes on and on with some great great songs and artists, so we could be in for a good one!!!

And nothing would be better for almost everyone in the pool if Sanjaya lit his hair on fire instead of sing a song. He's got to go, and almost everyone in the pool would benefit with his departure. There are only 5 people who have him still alive after this week, so 46 people would benefit by his departure. Of course, only 3 people still have Haley alive, so even more people would benefit with her departure, but at least she's likeable.

Looking at the leaderboard, first place Lisa Wagner and Kendra both had people who were already out go out this week. So, they both have the ability to go 10 for 11....Lisa has Sanjaya at 8, so she needs Haley or Phil gone. Kendra has Haley at 10, so she needs Sanjaya or Phil gone.

Right on their heels are Amy York (who's moving back to the big smoke), Matty, and the American Idol Pool's Neil Armstrong, Marybeth Heyd. None of them can go 10 for 11, but all of them would be aided with the departure of Sanjaya.

Jane, Zach & Sarah, Will, Katy, Rich, Mandy, Christy....they're all right on those peoples' heels, and they all will benefit with the loss of Sanjaya. Zach & Sarah will go 10 for 11 if Sanjaya or Haley goes home.

So, that's where we are this week. Happy viewing everyone!!!! Look for Marybeth tomorrow night!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!! Go MB! I can't WAIT to see you on TV tomorrow night. Just for fun - can you take a sip out of Paula's coke cup and tell us what's in it? At the very least you will DEFINITELY get on TV with this move!

Did you hear about the girl who is fasting until Sanjaya gets kicked off? Hmmm... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDviPoXJl28

Idol Pool Master,

It seems you have forgotten me in your list of artists whose work might grace the Idol Stage this week. Don't forget: my version of "Something" went higher on the UK charts than the Beatles'. And what could be better than a performance of "Goldfinger" (1965) by that cute little Indian girl?

Depending on how close we are to Paula, of course I will try to determine what is (and isn't) in Paula's Coke cup. At the very least I will wave like crazy to all my fellow pool-mates out there! I promise to dish the AI dirt on Wednesday. XXOO

I'm really hoping someone does "Listen to the Flower People" tonight

Hey Shirley, what did you think of LaKisha?

The girl is crying for Sanjaya. She's never going to shake that for the rest of her life.

Poor thing

I'm sad to say I didn't have any MB sightings...however, a lot of tears from little girl Ashley and WAY too much of Sanjaya's tongue. Now THAT was scary. Eeeww.

I SWEAR I SAW MB!! MB, you were wearing a hat and you were pretty far back from the stage - I saw you way behind Ryan when he annouced Chris towards the end... but there is no way anyone saw your face... Does anyone wonder if this is Amy York or Larsen when it comes up as amy? Sanjaya makes me want to hurl. Is Jordan Sparks going to win this thing?!?! Did you hear the applause when she came out on stage at the beginning??

Amy, I was just telling Paul that last night made me dread putting her 4th. She's going to make a serious run I think....

I hate Sanjaya.

Will: in the future, please conduct any conversations with Paul about Idol here on the blog. Thank you.

Idol Pool Master,

I hope now you see the error of your ways. Little did you know that not one, not two, but THREE of my hits would dominate 60s Brit Pop week! Yes, I realize that "Diamonds Are Forever" wasn't written in the 60s and that "As Long as He Needs Me" is a showtune, not Pop. "I (Who Have Nothing)" is 60s and Pop, it's just not British. But I am! (At least, I'm half British--that still counts, doesn't it?)

I came here to make a report
in rhyme, the form to which I resort.
Sanjaya must die.
He makes little girls cry.
And Haley wears really short shorts.

Little girls think Sanjaya is hot
As do women with foreheads with dots
But what is up with that hair
And that weird creepy stare
I bet next week he’s wearing culottes

I was just reprimanded by my good friend Matty for making a comment via email and not on the blog. So...
No comments from the crew about the hysterical child that was the focus of the entire show last night - it was painful to watch!

And don't even get me started on Sanjaya! The Amys are taking their G. Michael Faith routine on the road - apparently America loves bad singing (Amy Y.) and bad dancing (Amy L.) and choreography circa 1985.

FYI - I did not fast forward any of the show last night in hopes of seeing MB, damn crying girl took up all the audience time.

Thoughts and musings about the Case for Malakar. Even if said Malakar is cute sister Shyamali.

Serico, just read your blog entry....I think you might be right. Stephanie Edwards could be heading home tonight. Kind of forgetable, and not good.....Completely agree about Phil, too.

For the sake of my pool entry, I hope it's not Gina, but she'd deserve it as well.

One of my favorite cutaway shots last night was right as they were starting to roll the credits, and the crying girl was up on the stage. They cut to where she was sitting (I guess), and there was this other girl who looked completely pissed off....I wonder if she wanted to get up on the stage, too?

MB, I looked for you, but didn't see you.....

Lisa W. found this on Page 6, but can't post to the blog during the day, so I'm posting for her:

March 21, 2007 -- ON Monday night's airing of "The Late Show With David Letterman," "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul revealed an unfortunate nickname for her colleague, Simon Cow ell. When Letterman asked Abdul, "You honestly hate Simon, don't you? He's smug and he's arrogant. And he thinks you want to have sexual activities with him," Abdul responded, "You are right about that. But that will never happen - because his nickname is 'Small Ben.' " We look forward to hearing what Cowell's nickname is for the former pop princess.

So much to report about last night - I realize that by the time I sit down to write about it (later tonight) everyone will know the results...but I will still dish as much dirt as possible! In a nutshell - it was so much fun, we got to meet all the contestants (except for Haley) afterwards and they were all amazingly humble and sweet. We wound up eating dinner afterwards about 5 tables away from Melinda and her mom, who we chatted with before and after eating. She is as ridiculously unbelievably nice and unassuming as she appears on TV. And we spent some QT with the waterworks girl (not a plant, I think she won some sort of contest) before the show in the VIP lounge - she cried when Sanjaya's MOM came in (sporting her "Momjaya" shirt) with rejected sister...what's her name? Anyway I will be back later today with more deets. I know Ava and I didn't get much camera time, but her parents did point out a few tivo'd moments when I brought her home...minute 42 has a good shot of Ava and I chatting and yes, we were pretty far back and yes, I was wearing a green hat...More later!

The Idol Pool Media Committee, having reviewed the tapes, has verified that Marybeth appears twice on or around minue 42 of last night's broadcast. The sightings occur after Blake's performance, during the judges' comments, and before Ryan proves to the world that he is tone deaf (and has a crush on Blake). The Media Committee is still investigating reports that MB is wearing Mario Vasquez's hat.

The "Momjaya" shirt was equally as gross as he is...guess it runs in the family.

My faith in humanity continues to wane as Sanjaya survives another week...

What the F is WRONG with this country?! Oh, Stephanie...so sad... I'm moving to Canada, I swear. Sanjaya's got all of India voting for him, and Chris Sligh must have paid off the evil alumni of Bob Jones University to stay another week. He skeeves me out.
